hi guys accessibility and here in this chunky little matte black box we have the power beats Pro they launched in April so roughly five six months ago there was a lot of hike obviously surrounding this new product but the question is has this product actually lived up to the expectation and the excitement I’ve been using this on-and-off roughly for around two months so it’s time for my overall review so if you’re interested in possibly buying a pair right now then stay tuned because I’m gonna give you all of the information the pros the cons and well basically the truth so without further ado let’s get straight to it now so straight from the start let’s get the key information out the way first now you may or may not know that Beats Electronics or beats by dre we’re actually bought out by Apple so there are of course certain similarities between these and air pods but there are some key differences which we’ll get to of course one of the main advantages about the power beats Pro being part of the Apple Group is that well number one if you are an Apple user if you have an iPhone these work beautifully with them pairing is a dream you simply flick the lid up you’ve got a message on your iPhone saying connect and that is as simple as that very fast very efficient and kind of just works very similar again to air pods in fact almost identical just a different design on the animation fear not if you’re not an iPhone user because you can also pair them with Android simply by opening the lid pressing and holding the Bluetooth button and then connecting through your Bluetooth settings on your Android device not as quick as the iPhone but certainly no slouch now of course also because of the relationship between the power beats Pro and Apple we also have the h1 chip inside so again something we’ve seen on the air pods this of course includes Siri integration and a much more fast and stable connection and I can honestly say in terms of that connection I’ve had really no issues no real problems with dropouts and lag when you’re viewing certain bits of media so if that is one of your key but barriers is that is that term but will but we’ll go with it if one of your problems with Bluetooth wireless earphones or headphones is that very small lag between what you’re seeing and hearing you don’t have the problem with these we also have the same Lightning port for charging that we’ve seen on the iPhones and the air pods which is a negative for certain Android users that would need an extra cable and can’t just use the kind of standard type C cable but charge time and battery on these is really really pretty good I’m getting between sort of eight and nine hours of charge and when you combine that with the charging case it’s roughly around a day’s worth of use now for those out there that are skeptical about Bluetooth and wireless earphones because of having to charge them after the battery dies well with a five minutes charge you get about an hour and a half’s use fifteen minutes four and a half hours of use so really again I don’t see a problem with that and I actually use these on my flight between London Heathrow and JFK New York for the samsung galaxy note 10.1 in very very handy and I’ve got more information about the comfort of these on that flight in a second one more thing on battery as well if you take them out of your ears and rest them on the table they go into a standby mode and again this has been really good for me conserving power on these you could put them in the case of course but it’s still a good bit of technology in case the case is upstairs clunking on the table reduces battery consumption really good idea so talking about comfort on that flight and in general I found them to be when you first put them in really pretty comfortable and I was expecting them to be not quite as comfortable because they’re quite bulky but that bulk actually comes with a negative for prolonged use I found roughly after around two hours or so I started to get aches in the sort of back parts of my ears the canal part of it really comfortable the soft earbuds work really well and you do get different varieties of sizes so they do fit comfortably in most people’s ears I would imagine and that part of it fits really comfortably in mine but the actual plastic part began to ache after a couple of hours and I have to take them out and let my ears breathe for you know ten minutes or so and then I can go and pop them back in just something to note if you are someone who tends to get sort of aches and pains in your ears with prolonged use of earphones headphones that might be an issue for you outside of that they fit really snug and for gym goers for example they basically are impossible to get off my ears and because they are ipx4 water-resistant they’re kind of sweat resistant basically so you can go in the gym and you’re not going to have any problems I wouldn’t submerge them but again on the whole for those active people they’re a decent product now also on that flight and this is key for a lot of people who travel a lot they’re not active noise-cancelling and while the sort of bud design works pretty well with blocking out large portions of noise again better than the air pods I did feel that it was allowing slightly more sounding than I would like so if again if you’re a keen traveler or you want complete isolation don’t buy these I love mac coloring on any tech products especially matte black and matte gray space Gray’s that sort of stuff so the actual design the look of them they look really snazzy snazzy yeah I said snazzy but there’s also three other colors you can choose from as well ivory Navy and Moss and I’m intrigued to see what the moss ones would actually look like in the hand they’re also considering the size of them pretty lightweight as well the case is rather bulky and certainly something to note larger than air pods obviously but smaller than a pair of headphones and decent charge in them as well and that’s the sort of area in the market they’re not going to be slip them in your back pocket and be completely streamlined you are gonna have a bit of bolt to them but don’t really know where I’m going with this tear a good halfway house one random bit of information I found it quite difficult when I first got them to actually put the earbuds back in to the case it was like I was trying to do a Rubik’s Cube and while that’s improved I still find myself looking at where the connection is on the earbuds before lining them up and placing them in I don’t just feel I can kind of blindly plot them in which you can do with a lot of other wireless earphones now onto the functionality and the button configurations and how I’ve got on with it in the time and there is one thing that I have struggled with but on the whole it’s been pretty decent number one you’ve got actual volume buttons on both and you can basically use either for the same functions which is good if you’re just using one and you one free year you don’t lose any functionality so designated volume rocker on each and that is a nice feature although I find that the touch and hold function on the samsung galaxy birds for example is probably a better way to do it this is kind of a second best scenario because a lot of wireless earphones a lot of the gesture stuff doesn’t really work that great with volume you can again double tap each of the side of the buds for skipping a track or skipping a video and triple tapping to go back and that triple tap is quite hard to do but the power beats Pro aren’t alone in this I find any wireless earphones that you have to triple tap something almost defeats the object of being easy to use and I’d rather just get my phone out and press skip you’d often miss one in amongst that sort of triple and then it just doesn’t really work if you’re an eye of the needle kind of person you’ll probably have no problems with that but I’m a little bit clumsy now one problem I have found is the play/pause pressing it once should pause and then play and the poor side of it I’ve had no issues but when then trying to restart music or a video I’m pressing it and nothing appears to be happening and I don’t know whether that’s just the sample I was sent from Beats or whether this is a widespread problem I don’t know I may be doing something wrong but that is a thing that I’ve noticed let me know in the comments if you have these and you have that same problem now let’s get on to a very key feature and that is of course sound quality how much quality are you actually getting for your money and while we’ll get onto worth etc in a second you certainly can’t deny they are a pretty decent sounding pair of earphones very rich and clear certainly you know for bass lovers for example you’re gonna have no issues whatsoever they are great for that but I was expecting them to be almost too heavily reliant on bass but I was wrong they are a pretty well-rounded balanced sound so while initially I was listening to some R&B; and hip-hop and that sounded really really good as I would expect being you know traditionally beats by dre when I jumped onto some more acoustic music again the vocals sounded really clear and crisp and that was something that surprised me a little bit now another key feature about Bluetooth or wireless earphones is sound quality on phone calls because of course most people use these kind of products when they’re out and about doing activities going to the gym and he might want to answer the phone and you don’t have the ability to keep getting your phone out and they actually have two microphones on each bud and these are actually meant to target your voice and filter out external sounds such as wind and ambient noise now while I can’t go into the ins and outs of whether that is indeed working effectively I can certainly say that when I’ve been taking calls using them it sounds pretty crystal clear and I’ve actually asked people who I’ve been on the phone to when I’ve been using them and again they’ve said it sounds like I’m just using the phone normally which has to be a good thing and now of course with any review we have to touch on price and this will be a stickler for certain people then not cheap knowing the brand and knowing they’ve been bought by Apple I didn’t really necessarily expect that but certainly you have to take it into consideration retailing for around 220 UK sterling a little bit more possibly in the States or it might be the same these days we always get stung in the UK they’re certainly not for the faint-hearted and while I can honestly say they are not the best product I’ve ever used they are a really really good product I’m not really sure they’re necessarily worth 220 pounds there are certainly other products for that sort of money that might be a better option for you but if you’re an Apple user and you like the fact that they work really really well together you like the Apple brand you like the Beats Brown and you just kind of have to have that little bee on there there are really good products and if you can afford it hey why not I who am I to say don’t go and buy it because you’re not going to be disappointed with the actual product they’re not just a label they’re decent as well key things I’d like to see them improve in the future noise cancellation obviously being a big thing for me I travel quite a lot aeroplanes trains it kind of I feel needs to be included especially for that price and just making sure that any of the functionality to do with the skipping tracks play/pause etc to be spot-on flawless I feel again needs to be there I will leave a link to this product in the video description below just pass the subscribe and like button hey no selfless plug let me know in the comment section below whether you are indeed looking to buy a pair and whether this video has helped you or do you think there’s a product that’s equally as good for a cheaper price all do you think there’s a better product for the price let me know again in the comment section below as always I’d love to hear all of your thoughts like and share if you did enjoy this video and found it helpful tech news and review videos pretty much daily here on YouTube I love you leaving I’ll soon the next one
