Photography Review Black Friday Deals 2019

what’s up everybody my name is cameron i’m with viral launch today we are talking about the best practices for product photography on amazon let’s jump right in [Music] all right so product photography rights photos on Amazon are extremely important there are a lot of different important aspects to selling your product on Amazon one of them is keyword ranking one of them is your listing one of them is your price the amount of reviews you have but photos are huge photos are in that bucket of really important considerations to get rights if you get photos wrong they can break your success on Amazon if you get them right they can make your success on Amazon you only have a couple seconds to capture the attention of a buyer someone scrolling through the search results to say either hey that looks like a great product or no that looks like a bad product photos are one of the most essential parts to a listing because when customers are scrolling through those initial search results the photo is one of the first things that they look at along with something like the price or the listing or the review counts so it’s essential to get them right so we’re gonna talk about what we’ve learned here at viral launch from getting photos product photography rights on Amazon alright everyone so the first general best practice for product photography and it sounds silly but it’s so true is quality really good quality photos make a good quality product bad quality photos make a bad quality product or at least the perception of that product if you have bad quality photos people are gonna perceive it as a bad product if you have good quality photos people are going to perceive that product as a good quality product so what does a good quality photo look like well there’s a lot that goes into having a good quality photo however in the end a lot of it comes down to a having a good quality camera but be also having good quality lighting and when it comes to quality specifically and even more lighting specifically really having the right equipment is absolutely necessary to make a good quality photo when it comes to you product photography having bright even lighting is going to make or break your success for your photos to improve perception of quality so what does this mean well this means that you need to have both and lifestyle images that are of good quality that come from a good quality camera and that steady even lighting I’m gonna put some examples up on the screen just to show you to give you an idea of what a good quality photo looks like when it comes to lighting and when it comes to good steady even lighting and everything used with the right equipment best practice number two which is often something that a lot of sellers overlook when they put photos up on Amazon is to tell a story with your photos so do your photos tell a story about the product do they tell the customer tell the buyer how your product is used and in the context that is used in paying attention when it comes to telling a story to the order the actual order of the photos is extremely important for example your photos how your photos are placed and the order that they’re placed in on your Amazon listing can be placed in a linear way that shows customers shows buyers how to use your product or the correct order in which the product is used in so ask yourself when you’re getting your photos from a professional in or if you’re taking them yourselves whether those photos that you’re getting or telling a story to the customer telling a story also helps develop brand image as well as communicate clearly to the buyer what they can expect from the product the third best practice for product photography on Amazon is to get outside of your own perspective a lot of sellers end up being married to their product photography in other words a lot of sellers are almost blinded by the fact that their photos are not that great because they obtained them themselves or they got them a little while ago where they paid a lot of money for them when in reality those photos are actually not that great they’re not good quality photos quality photos that tell a story or accurately depict what they can expect what a customer can expect from the product and it’s really hard for you to tell if you actually have good photos or not if you have a biased perspective on your product so the best practice a best practice is to get outside perspective on your photos outside perspective from someone that you trust well enough or a number of people that you trust well enough to say whether your our great or actually not so great another practice that you could do is to compare your photos with the photos in the rest of the markets on Amazon now what you don’t want to do is just say all my photos are just good enough because photos are an investment and they are worth the investment you want to make sure that your photos are blowing everyone else out of the water because that is going to set you up for success in the long run so what do you need to do you need to get the perspective from someone or a group of people that you trust to tell you whether your photos are great or not so great now best practice number four is to not overload your photos with graphics or text now I’m going to put some examples up on the screen just to show you what this looks like as I’m talking about it because this is also an important one that actually a lot of sellers end up getting wrong now text can be used to enhance your photos however text can also be used to distract to take away from your photos meaning text can be used to benefit you benefit you getting more sales or they can encourage sellers to not buy your products because of a lack of perception of quality so as you’re looking on the screen check out what I mean when I talk about when I’m talking about overloading your images with graphics or texts so you do want text to create a point of interest in the photos that you are editing basically you want the text to draw customers attention to a specific point and you don’t want that to be overwhelming you want to clearly communicate which feature you’re trying to point out to the customer with maybe something like one to three words now what a lot of sellers end up getting wrong here is using way too many words or putting way too many words on a photo and it’s really hard for sellers to understand what exactly they’re trying to look for so limit limit what you’re doing with graphics are text but also know that it can be really valuable if done well and done right the next best practice for your Amazon product photography is split testing so what do I mean by split testing split testing is like a bee testing it’s variation testing basically you’re testing whether people like a certain photo over another photo whether certain people like photo a or photo be more what you don’t know is when you put photos up on Amazon whether the consumer base is going to largely click on and buy your product because of photo a or photo B and so the process of split testing allows you to determine which photo or photos that customers liked better in this case a best practice is to test that to test all of your photos a couple of your photos to test your hero image to determine which primary image is converting customers the best basically you just need to split test consistently and constantly to know whether customers like a specific photo over another I’m literally just even changing a primary photo could be the difference of thousands of dollars gained or lost so you need to make sure that you have the right photo in front of everyone on Amazon and the last best practice is a funny one but it’s also really true is to really consider just getting professional photography done so you can do photography on your own however that also involves different startup costs cost per equipments and also having the necessary skill to get the photos right and that’s time that’s money it’s energy it’s a lot of different things outsourcing your photography to a professional will allow you to focus on what you need to focus on with releasing new products but also will give the photography to someone who knows what they’re doing if you pick the right professional photographer photos are a one-time investment for your specific set of photos photos are what your customers will see forever they aren’t very much worth the investment and so if you can find a professional who knows what he or she is doing I really would recommend saving time saving energy and honestly saving some money and gaining money in the process by getting professional photography done you don’t want uncle Rick giving you photos from his side gig photo business if they’re not good quality viral launch actually has an in-house team dedicated to taking the best Amazon photos I’m gonna put a link in the description below for product photography on Amazon now there’s obviously a lot more that can go into photography but in just general practice for you taking photos getting photos obtaining photos and what to improve on this really can help you improve sales improve conversions and everything in between really want to thank you for watching we always love hearing from you honestly if you have a tip or trick or a
